Bruce MacDonald
Chief Investment Officer; Prior to joining VCIMCO, Bruce was the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner of Crayna Capital, an advisory firm focused on providing alternative investment solutions to sustainability focused clients. Prior to founding Crayna Capital, from April 2009 to September 2013, Bruce was Chief Investment Officer, and a founding partner, of liquid alternatives pioneer Simple Alternatives where he co-managed the S1 Fund, Simple Alternatives’ multi-manager hedged mutual fund. Prior to the founding of Simple Alternatives, from August 2005 to March 2009, Bruce was a Director at the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (“UVIMCO”) where he served as Chair of the Investment Committee, which had responsibility for manager selection and tactical asset allocation decisions. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Bruce spent several years at Putnam Investments in various investment management positions and as an Investment Coordinator with the Columbia University Investment Management Company. Bruce received his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1998 and graduated from Wesleyan University in 1992 with a BA in Religion.
